Accra, April. 8, GNA - Mr Mohammed Haruna, a leading member of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), has declared his   intention to contest the Party's National Treasurer position in the upcoming National Delegates Congress scheduled for August this year.

He said the revamping of the financial base of the party was important to better position it to trounce the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 elections.

Mr Haruna made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday.

According to him, the PNC stood a better chance of winning the 2016 elections, if the financial administration of the party was given a clean sheet, and manned by a competent person.

He said, the party could beat the NDC and NPP, only if its finances were well structured and better mobilized, before going into the 2016 elections, which 'the electorate are speculating will be a waterloo for the party, also when a marketable presidential candidate is chosen.'

Mr Haruna who is also the Chairman of Pizo Investment Group of Companies said Ghanaians were complaining about the developments in the economy, and that the PNC stood tall in winning the 2016 elections, if it had strong financial muscle and logistics.

According to him, 'it is about time business people in the party stepped forward to help in the financial organization of their party.

Mr Haruna who had over the years being one of the party's supportive activists, urged the PNC delegates to reward loyal, dedicated and hardworking members of the party by voting massively for them in the upcoming congress.

He said some members of the current leadership of the party had not been doing the party any good, and that those were the reasons why the party had been suffering all this while.

He, therefore, cautioned members who liked to experiment by jostling for various positions they were not fit for, to desist from doing so because positions in the party are not meant for experimenters.

Mr Haruna explained the situation where some persons kept pushing for positions which they could not manage, and said that would not help the party going into the 2016 elections.

Mr Mohammed Haruna was born in Tamale in 1977, and has a degree in Administration.

He is the Founder and Chairman of Pizo Investment Group of Companies, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Administration and Management Consultants of Ghana.
