Nii Lante Vanderpuye
Kyebi, April 1, GNA - Nii Lante Vandapuije, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has urged staff of the East Akim Municipal Assembly to be propagators of the National Sanitation Day (NSD) exercise, to make it appealing to citizens of the area.

He said active participation in the NSD exercise should be the responsibility of every citizen in the district, especially the staff.

Nii Lante was addressing members of staff of the East Akim Municipal Assembly, as part of preparations towards the hosting of the NSD exercise on Monday by the Eastern Region.

The Deputy Local Government Minister urged the staff to use their expertise to support the Municipal Chief Executive in managing the area.

"Do not sabotage your MCE,    or other staff members who are working tirelessly for the progress of the Municipality," he said.

He also advised the staff to eschew back-biting, and rather work as a family for their own welfare, and that of the populace.

Nii Lante called for respect for people within the Municipality, no matter their status in society.

He said the Assembly would achieve its mission and goals provided workers proved to citizens that they care and respect them.

Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong, the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, appealed to the staff to sacrifice their time, in spite of the holidays, to make the NSD successful.
