Stanbic Bank donates to Suma Development Fund

Accra, April 1, GNA - Stanbic Bank has presented a cheque for 3,000 Ghana Cedis,   to the Suma Development Fund, for the construction of a Business School at the University of Energy and Natural Resources of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

The gesture which took place at Suma-Ahenkro in the Jaman North District,   formed part of the Bank's commitment to invest in educational projects, to secure the education of future generations and help communities to grow.

Mr Hakeem Shaibu, Sunyani Branch Manager of Stanbic Bank, at a sod-cutting ceremony of the University project, said the bank believes in helping communities to move forward and grow, and pledged to help transform Suma Ahenkro into a far more developed community in the years ahead.

Mr Shaibu said in a bid to encourage education, the chiefs and people of the Suma Traditional Area are to construct four lecture theatres, an administration block with offices, a computer laboratory, and a library for the University, in a bid to encourage education in the area.

The self-help project which began in March, will end in August, after which the first batch of students will be admitted by September

He reiterated the Bank's commitment to contribute to the development of the Suma Traditional Area, adding that the bank has been committed to create prosperity and give back to Ghanaians.

'The bank provides critical social support in education, sports development, the agricultural sector, poverty relief, health and environmental protection,' he added.

The bank pledged its continuous and unflinching support towards other projects that are equally aimed at spurring development in the Suma Traditional Area.

The Public Relations Officer of the Suma Development Fund, received the cheque on behalf of the Traditional Area, and commended the Bank for its support.
