NDC Disunity can lead NDC into opposition - Segbefia
APR 1, 2015 LISTEN

Ho, March 31, GNA - Mr Alex Segbefia, Minister of Health-designate, at the weekend, observed that disunity could lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into opposition in the 2016 general elections.

He, therefore, charged the rank and file of the Party to do away with petty grievances, and other acts which could land the Party in opposition.

Mr Segbefia was addressing students of Ho Nursing Training College (NTC), at a handing-over ceremony for new executives   of the College's Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the NDC.

The Party in the Region is reportedly battling intra-party conflicts, which have degenerated into media war.

Mr Segbefia said 'opposition is nightmare,' and called for the revival of the spirit that bound the Party together, when it was not in power, saying, 'opposition is not an option for us.'

He said the Region remained the backbone of NDC, and urged executives from branch and constituency to regional levels, to resolve all grievances ahead of the 2016 elections.

'Let us try and settle all grievances. No one is more powerful as all of us, so we must be united,' he said.

Mr Segbefia asked the youth not to be influenced by money, but should rather sacrifice for the Party and the nation.

Mr Solomon Azomyan, former TEIN President of the College, said TEIN should not be seen only as election machinery, adding that until all grievances of the youth were addressed, they might not be part of the Party's campaign in 2016.

Mr Kofi Adams, National Organizer of NDC said government was working within limited resources to create opportunities for young people, and called for the support of all.

He said government was also making painstaking efforts to fix the energy problem.

Mr Egypte Kudoto, Volta Regional Youth Organizer of NDC, sworn the new NTC TEIN executives into office, and tasked them to work towards victory in the 2016 general elections.
