Tema, March 31, GNA - The sod has been cut for a three million cedi-drainage project to begin at Tema Newtown, the most deprived area of the Tema Metropolis.

The project, which would reduce the incidence of flooding in the area, would also form the basis for road construction. It would be completed in six months

The Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) is funding the project, which would cover 5.7 kilometres.

Mr Isaac Ashai Odamtten, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, jointly with Nii Adjei Kraku, Tema Manste, cut the sod for the commencement of the project.

Mr Odamtten said other major road projects were on course in the Tema Metropolis, which were in line with the President's vision of alleviating the problems associated with poor or non-existent roads for the entire population.

Nii Kraku asked his people to take good care of every project provided in the area so that the authorities would be encouraged to provide more projects for them.
