Amec Foster Wheeler donates to Teshie Orphanage

Amec Foster Wheeler Operations Ghana Limited, a leading oil and gas firm, has donated to the Teshie Orphanage located within the Teshie community in Accra, Ghana. 

The donation was part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibilities towards humanity and the community in which it operates.

Presenting the food items, the Contract Manager of Amec Foster Wheeler Operations Ghana, Dr Cyril Titus-Glover, said Amec Foster Wheeler is not only a business entity, but also a member of the local communities in which it operate.

“We strive to build good relations with representatives of these communities. Through thoughtful activities that support local community initiatives and fit into the vision and mission of our company. Through these activities we also build the bond and a sense of solidarity with the environment and its problems. For we realise that CSR is important for us to remain sustainable. Strong communities support, strong organizations”, he added.

He further explained that “Amec Foster Wheeler Operations Ghana Limited” is a focused supplier of consultancy, engineering and project management services to its customers in the world's oil and gas, and mining, clean energy, environment and infrastructure markets."

Amec has about 40,000 employees in over 50 countries and in Ghana the office was setup in April 2014.

The Ghana entity has a five year contract with Tullow Oil Ghana, providing engineering support services to Kwame Nkrumah (KNK) FPSO offshore Ghana.

The proprietress of the orphanage, Mrs Janet Parker said the Teshie orphanage is extremely grateful to Amec Foster Wheeler limited for the donation.

She said the items will go a long way in easing the financial burden that the orphanage goes through on a daily basis.

 The Teshie Orphanage is a private organisation (non-governmental institution) which provides shelter and homely atmosphere for orphans and vulnerable children within the community and beyond and managed through the assistance of individuals and organizations to educate and care for these children so as to equip them to face the challenges of the outside world.
