Cambodian distinguished figures from all walks of life have gathered together in the peace event hosted by HWPL

Siem Reap, Cambodia- On March 23rd 2015, prominent Cambodian, political figures, religious leaders and business men gathered at the Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia Siem Reap Campus in order to share their opinions on bringing peace and love in accordance with the religious scriptures. This event, hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (hereafter HWPL), provided a big step for Cambodian leaders to prevent religious disputes and understand the true meanings of peace and love based on the religious texts.

Starting with the opening address of the presider, a special speech was given by Venerable Lorm Loeurm, the executive director of Life and Hope Association, a non-profit and education-focused organization and the representatives from each religion also shared about peace spoken in their respective scriptures. Even after the event, the participants did not leave, but gathered to freely share their thoughts networking with each other and showing their passion for peace-building.

Ven. Lorm Loeurm came to Korea last September to participate in the World Alliance of Religions' Peace (WARP) Summit, an unprecedented peace festival attended by numerous people from all around the world. He said, “It was so amazing, meaningful, and creatively well-organized meeting that people from over 120 countries came together and shared the concepts, point of views and principles of world peace in order to cease all wars. I was really surprised when I first arrived in Korea and started to feel that many people here in Korea in all classes, especially Mr. Man Hee Lee, the founder of HWPL are working tirelessly to end unnecessary conflicts occurring in many parts of this world and I started to think, why can't I help? I cannot describe the WARP summit in my own words, but I can say that it was an initiative event that motivated me to start doing something for peace-building in my community, my country, and for the world eventually. I have imagined that I would be able to work for something valuable for my country and now it is actually happening.”

A Muslim politician H.E. Mr. Hap Omaly, Under Secretary of State, Ministry of Rural Development in Cambodia, expressed his gratitude to HWPL for arranging the Peace Dialogue Conference in Cambodia, saying “Today's conference is very important for us to sit, share, talk, and promote cooperation among religions in order to find a good way to establish peace and solidarity in the world.”

A Buddhist representative San Van urged Cambodians to pay attention to this event and take part in the peace movements together. “I believe that the World Alliance of Religions' Peace Office Meeting can motivate men, women, youth, and children to take responsibility of spreading the message of peace and reconciliation to the world so that everyone will live in peace,” he said.

An official of the host organization explained that this gathering based on the religious scriptures took a new departure in sharing ideas and opinions on peace and love regardless of religion, age, and culture. Influential political figures, women's group leaders, and youth leaders as well as various religious leaders from Buddhism, Hinduism, Catholicism, and Baha'ism have agreed that this should not end as an one-time meeting but continue as a long-term event on a regular basis to bring religions closer and accept different concepts and point of views from each religion.

An international peace organization HWPL hosted the World Alliance of Religions' Peace Summit in Seoul, South Korea on September 17th through 19th 2014, where approximately 4,000 international political figures, religious leaders, and women's and youth group leaders as well as 200,000 HWPL members attended for the sake of the cessation of war and world peace. The world is paying attention to Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL who successfully led this unprecedented international peace festival.
