Wontumi Leads Ghana Prayers On Indece
06.03.2015 LISTEN

Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka 'wontumi,' the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has admonished Ghanaians to use the 58th independence Day celebration to fervently pray for the progress of the country.

According to him, Ghana is currently facing the worst economic crises since it attained independence in 1957, stressing the need for the populace to seek God's intervention to salvage the country.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE, the NPP capo stated that the Ashanti regional branch of the NPP had decided to use the Independence Day to pray for the improvement of the conditions of Ghanaians.

According to the NPP bigwig, who is a staunch Christian and knowledgeable in the Holy Bible, 'God is ever ready to listen to the cry of his people so we should go before him in prayers.'

The NPP top official said the prayer session is not restricted to NPP members, urging other people belonging to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Convention People's Party (CPP), People's National Congress (PNC), among others, who have Ghana at heart, to take part in the prayer session.

He entreated the NPP members and the entire populace to fast and pray for Ghana at various locations today, explaining that the party has not selected a particular place for the prayer session.

Wontumi said ideally Ghanaians should be celebrating on Independence Day to highlight economic successes chalked so far, but sadly Ghana has not recorded any significant successes to celebrate.

He said that the country was facing numerous challenges which call for God's supernatural intervention.

The NPP Chairman stated that the economic crunch which has worsened in recent times was due to lack of effective leadership and implementation of bad policies and programmes by the current Mahama administration.

He pointed out that the Mahama administration doesn't have the knowledge and experience to fix the myriad of problems confronting the country, noting that Ghana is in deep trouble.

What Ghanaians need now is God's intervention and favour to save the country from the insurmountable challenges.

Wontumi predicted that Nana Akufo-Addo would record a landslide victory in the 2016 general elections to lead Ghana into affluence.
