Generations of Ghana's Diaspora

Ghana is 58 and I salute you all.

I bring you warm greetings from the Ghanaian Community In France Council, GHACIF and the Federation of Ghanaian Diaspora in Europe, FEGHADE.

I congratulate you all for your patriotism and the importance you attach to Ghana's Independence day celebration here in the Diaspora. Ghana is all we have. It lives in our souls and we can't do without it. All our umbilical cords are attached to that country. Small or big, challenged or not challenged, after God, we all serve Ghana. It is our heartbeat.

The world has become a global village and it has brought Ghana to our doorsteps, wherever we are. Infact some of us in the Diaspora across Internet are much more updated on facts in Ghana than our compatriots back home.

With our double background, we Diasporans have become key strategic agents of development. Development for Ghana and our host countries. Our people back home keep bringing us closer. That is our desire. Since ages, across our remittances, our know how, our home investments etc, we have been contributing immensely to Ghana's growth. Across these we have always manifested our attachment to our motherland.

Ghana's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has upgraded the Diaspora Support Unit to Diaspora Affairs Bureau. Diaspora Desks have been created in all Ghana Missions abroad. I say, it is a good beginning. It is now the turn of we diasporans to use these tools to bridge the remaining gap between the Diasporan Island and our country.

Let us exploit the goodness of the great pool of Talented, Skilled and Patriotic Ghanaian generations in Foreign Lands and commit them to the course that will drive our country Ghana forward.

We are Ghana's greatest offshore asset. We need to harness our full participation in nation building now.

GHACIF : Gyina Pintiin Na Boa Ghana
FEGHADE : Let's Build Ghana
It will never be said enough, the ultimate button needs to be pressed. Diasporan belongingness to Ghana needs to be completed.

ROPAL,2006. Ghanaians in the Diaspora need to Vote in Ghana's Elections. We need to be represented in Ghana's Parliament. We need to get a Ministry that will solely support our course. This is what will complete the ties between us and our motherland Ghana. We shall get there.

Last year the Ghanaian Community in France Council, Ghacif, initiated the celebration of Ghana's Republic Day abroad. Our theme was, ”Bringing Excellence into our Community”. It was a prayer. In less than one year, Excellence has reached our community. Our Community has made a lot of progress this year 2015. We are grateful to God for that.

This time 6th March 2015, the theme is ” Bringing Excellence into Our Country Ghana”. It is a prayer.

Dumsor Must Stop.
6th March 2015 must be a Day of Prayer Against Dumsor

Ghanaians have advanced in various categories of religion. Many Ghanaian religious leaders claim authority over many things. Now is the time to claim authority over Dumsor which has come to establish in our society as the most ridiculous stumbling block of our country's economical growth and the good health of it's people.

Yes, this load shedding issue (Dumsor)is the responsibility of our government of the day, but this problem seems to be overriding it's efforts. In times like this, we have to add prayers to efforts.

At age 58, Ghana does not merit such a terrible situation. Believe me, nobody is happy about it. Our hospitals are dysfunctioning causing untimely deaths, businesses are collapsing, retrogression is overtaking progress.

Today I am appealing to all Ghanaian religious leaders across the Globe to declare 6th March 2015 as a day of prayer, solely against Dumsor.

Leaders, lead your congregants into prayers against Dumsor. Ask God to have mercy upon Ghana and bless us with a lasting solution to this terrible problem.

8th March falls on a Sunday. Churches, consider Ghana and pray against Dumsor. Muslims, 6th March falls on a Friday, consider Ghana and pray against Dumsor.

Energy powers everything in society. Without it Society will fall. Ghana needs permanent energy to catch up with development and progress.

Together with our efforts and God's intervention, we can overcome. Make God ”re-bless” our homeland.

The excellence of Ghana is for ourselves today and posterity.

Long live our Country Ghana
Long live the good image of Ghanaians.
God bless Ghana's Diaspora
And God bless Ghanaians backhome .
In Paris. March 2015
Hon. Osei Mensah Michael
