Three Suspected Robbers In Police Grip

The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers, the suspected robbers include Yussif Salam 26 Welder, Kassim Sani 25 Butcher and Wilson Sulley 22 Fork lift operator.

Briefing the media on the arrest, Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP/ Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, said on February 26th, 2015 the Accra Regional Police Command had a tip-off that a gang of robbers were planning to attack a residence in Israel, a suburb of Accra, which made the arrest of the three suspects.

According to him a search was conducted on them which the police retrieved one sten gun, one foreign pistol and five rounds of live ammunition.

”Police preliminary investigations revealed that, this gang of robbers is responsible for several robbery activities in Israel, Kasua and Ashongman and its environs” he noted.

Modus Operandi
As part of their modus, hey lay ambush in the community and in most cases attack, rob and injure their victims during odd hours.

He said the three suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

DCOP, Yohuno advice the general public to be security conscious at all times and not hesitate in reporting unknown persons who loiter in their communities as spies to the police.

He therefore reminded the public of the police informant reward system, which according to him is active and people who volunteer credible, reliable and timely information to the police would be rewarded heavily.
