Not to criticize, but to understand, Australian religious leaders gathered for sustainable peace.

Melbourne, Australia- The wave of peace continues to be spread out to the various regions in Australia, the country that embarked its fifth successful Peace Dialogue through the Alliance of Religions. Since the first meeting that took place in Sydney, this time the gathering was held in Melbourne to take a programmatic approach toward peace building. This continuous peace movement in the nation tells us how people of Australia crave peace.

At the Alliance of Religions' Peace Dialogue, ten religious representatives representing Catholic, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Scientology, and Cao Dai, etc. gathered together to show their efforts and willingness to bring about world peace. Starting off with watching the highlights of the World Alliance of Religions' Peace (WARP) Summit, hosted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) in South Korea last year, the leaders then carefully lent their ears to the keynote speech of Chairman Man He Lee, the founder of HWPL. Each religious leader positively discussed about the practical method of achieving cessation of wars and peaceful society through the dialogue based on their respective scriptures.

Initiated by Chairman Lee, the Alliance of Religions' Peace Dialogue forums are arising in many parts of the world as an increasing number of prominent leaders and representatives from various faiths are participating in this global peace movement to break down the divide between religions and to find solutions contribute to sustainable peace. The Alliance of Religions' Peace Dialogue aims to prevent the conflicts caused by religious misunderstanding and bring forth peace by calling religious leaders to discuss about an effective way of peace building based on the most trustworthy scripture. Proactive leaders who live for peace are able to take active steps to understand the roles and missions of religious leaders of today in the peace-making process, thus influencing their congregations and communities.

The peace gathering of the religious leaders in Melbourne received a great around applause from the audience who expressed their appreciation that the leaders took this opportunity to come together to deepen their understandings of the teachings of each religion in the name of peace. The representatives and participants promised that they will actively work together with HWPL and join the future meetings.

Jennifer Kim, Director of HWPL Australia, said “I think it is very difficult to talk about what you really have in mind when other religious people are all around you. But through this Peace Dialogue, the leaders of each religion were able to freely share their opinions and gain deeper understandings of the standards and teachings of other religions. Realizing the fact that the religious intolerance is one of the main causes of war of our time, the representatives announced that they will take progressive approach toward peace and continue to participate in the peace dialogue sessions.”
