Bangkok, March 3, (dpa/GNA) - North Korea has ended its ban on foreign tourists entering the country as fears surrounding the Ebola virus subside, news reports said Tuesday.

The ban had been in place since October, although no cases of Ebola were reported in the isolated country, Yonhap News Agency reported.

The restrictions effectively closed North Korea to all foreign tourists and imposed a 21-day quarantine on all others, including diplomats, entering the country, the report said.

"We have been informed by Air Koryo (North Korea's state-run airline) that North Korea's borders are now open for travel and the four-month-long Ebola travel ban was lifted as of Monday, March 2," Uri Tours, a tour operator, said on its website.

"According to Air Koryo, everything is back to normal."
