Sunyani, Feb. 28, GNA - The Brong-Ahafo Regional Police has appealed to the general public to assist them with information that could lead to the arrest of a suspected murderer of a farmer, aged 49 at Jema Zongo in the Kintampo South District.
Briefing the Media on Friday in Sunyani, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christopher Tawiah, Regional Police Public Relations Officer stated that Asumidi Dawuda, the deceased was a Sisala man, who lived at Jema Zongo with his family.
He said on February 12, this year, he went to his farm alone and did not return,and a report was made at the police station.
He said the police went to the farm and found the body of Dawuda with multiple wounds on his chest and stomach with his intestines gushed out.
ASP Tawuiah stated that Dawuda's body and his footwear were found about 150 metres away from the farm with some foot prints leading to the farm.
He said 'Dawuda is suspected to have been chased by the assailant on his farm for a while before being killed with a knife while his gun was also taken away by his assailant'.
ASP Tawiah said a jack knife, a torch light and two live cartridges were found lying beside his dead body, and that, the Police suspects foul play and was therefore working seriously to arrest the culprit, he added.
