Ederick Limited Goes Online
27.02.2015 LISTEN

Ederick Limited, a wholly-owned Ghanaian firm that sells home appliances, recently launched its online store in Accra to allow customers the freedom to transact business with the company online.

'We have realized that the world has become a global village and has also become technologically savvy. We thought the way we could reach everyone globally on a daily basis was through online shop,' Dean Nunoo, Head of Sales Marketing and Credit at Ederick, said at the launch.

Founded in 1986, Ederick Limited was officially registered as a business in 1987 paving way for it to become a limited liability company in 1990.

At its flagship store at La, opposite the General Hospital, Ederick Limited displays famous brands such as Whirlpool, Philips Electronics, Glem Gas and Candy Hoover.

Other products on display include washing machines and tumble dryers, air conditioners, cookers, refrigerators, freezers, television sets, home theatre systems and microwave ovens.

Ederick Limited also has showrooms at Achimota and Baatsonaa, off the Spintex Road in Accra, as well as Kumasi. Branches are expected to be opened in Takoradi, Tamale and Ho soon.

Mr Nunoo disclosed that the company is focused on providing indisputable quality products at very affordable prices.

He explained that shoppers could transact business anytime irrespective of their location.

'No matter what time you feel like shopping, you can always do so by the click of a button, go to the Ederick online store and shop. Once payment is confirmed, you can arrange for delivery or pick up your items in-store.'

There are also currency options for shoppers to choose from depending on the geographical location of a customer.

'If you live in Europe and your main currency is the Euro, you can shop online on a Euro platform. If you are in the United States, you can shop on a dollar platform just as those in the United Kingdom can go to the pound platform.'

Mr Nunoo added that prices of items online are slightly lower than the showroom prices and deliveries within Accra-Tema Metropolis, Kumasi and Takoradi were free.

'We have future plans of serving our customers better and have extended our interaction with our clients using the various social media platforms and will soon launch mobile applications on Android and iOS. All this is geared towards capturing a market we believe represents the future of shopping in Ghana.'
