Operation Smile Registers Cleft Palate Patients For Free Surgery In April

Operation Smile, the non-profit volunteer medical services organization that provides free reconstructive surgery for children and adults with cleft lip and palate, has begun registrations for over 200 patients for its upcoming medical mission in April, 2015. The medical surgeries which will be conducted at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital on April 9th 2015 seek to impact the lives of people with cleft lip and palate by correcting their deformities.

Operation Smile Ghana is encouraging all Ghanaians to help identify and register Ghanaians with cleft lips for the free surgery by dialing 0502407860 or 0241917137.‎ Expenses including transportations (from anywhere in Ghana) to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, meals and accommodation during the 10 days of the medical mission, will be free for all registered patients.

Operation Smile Ghana works under the umbrella of the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Services and is committed to the creation of programs leading to the self-sustainable treatment of cleft lip and cleft palate pathologies through capacity-building and working within the existing cleft infrastructure in Ghana.

Operation Smile organizes, executes, and pays for the logistics of the programs with assistance from International and local community partners, including Vodafone Ghana‎.
