The main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which recently held a huge demonstration in the national capital, Accra, says it supports a similar demonstration scheduled for today, February 25, 2015, in the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi.
In a statement signed by the party's General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, the NPP said it 'wishes to announce to the entirety of Ghanaians that it endorses the Yabr3 demonstration, which is being organised by pressure group Movement for Change.
'The economic gains made in our country have been eroded over the past six years of the NDC rule.
'Our people continue to suffer unprecedented economic hardship, coupled with an unending power crisis.
'We urge members of the NPP, civil society and artisanal groups, to show their displeasure towards the ineptitude of the John Mahama-led government by joining the scheduled street protest tomorrow,' the statement said.
The party said it believes that the 'demand for better governance and accountability must continue unabated.'
DAILY GUIDE learnt that NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, may lead the demo as he did for the 'Won gbo' demo in Accra last week
