Press Statement Statement: Yabr3 Demonstration Is A Waste Of Time
FEB 23, 2015 LISTEN

The Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) KNUST branch in the Ashanti Region wish to crave the indulgence of all Ghanaians not to join the NPP on their growing false propaganda and political machinations spearheaded by this so- called 'Movement for Change'/NPP to discredit and make the Mahama-led government unpopular to drive home a clueless agenda at stake.

Sharing and knowing the feelings of many discerning Ghanaians, we as a matter of urgency admit the challenges facing the government to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians judging from the strenuous effort to arrest our present predicaments.

However, the three concerns raised by the said NPP propaganda machinery in disguise as a pressure group, we smartly will set the records straight away that government has drawn conclusions and in absolute readiness pointed out the impressive mechanisms in place to salvage the menace relative to the energy crisis and as such the Mahama-led/NDC government is still committed to the 5000 MW in manifesto promise.

The construction of ongoing additional power plants, assessment of the broken turbines with cost intensive probes and the establishment of a power ministry as a rapid response unit to curtail or completely exterminate the situation in systematic processes remain remarkable. The only time people like this movement/NPP can be subdued to muteness is being objective of whether no effort is in place by government or whether the spotted problem is not under any proactive scrutiny and the need to alleviate the proclaimed suffering of Ghanaians as the group seeks to portray? These are what we call proficiency and methodological approach to problem solving.

On the other hand, we can't fathom why people want will want to score cheap political scores from the price hikes in fuel and using the automatic adjustment formulae (AAF) to champion their prosaic argument. The government has said and clarified that a previous decrement made before the fall in the fuel price on the world market will supplement the present price index to that effect.

So, any further and surely another reduction in due course to streamline the transport inconsistencies regarding transport fares for that matter is justifiable and subject to realisation. The GPRTU has issued an official statement indicating that the percentage of reduction is negligible and will factor it in subsequent reductions with time.

To our noisy neighbours/NPP in sheep's clothing, the standard of living is measured by several economic indicators which we find sheer naivety on the part of 'MFC'/NPP to narrow the indicators to just a miniature of them and jumping into concluding Ghanaians are suffering for high cost of living.

Since when has a section of the public of such meritocracy in mediocrity become a measure of our standard of living? Honestly, the need to disregard this group of agitators now the better for us all whilst we continue to support and believe in the president and his able lieutenants to deliver in accordance with the promise for which mandate was given.

Finally, we entreat all well Ghanaians particularly in the Ashanti region not to give the NPP a listening hear nor join them in their time 'wasting' demonstration. We have a strong conviction that the NDC will not renege on its promises but will surely get this nation to its expected destination in positivity.

God bless our homeland Ghana!! Long live TEIN KNUST!!!!

Signed
Fatawu Abubakar Sadique
President
