Less than two weeks, Ghana will be celebrating its fifty eighth independence anniversary since it got freedom from the colonial masters.

All these years, the anniversary celebration has remain the same way as lining innocent but patriotic school children, their teachers, officers and men from the security forces and workers to march pass the dais.

But do not be surprised if President John Dramani Mahama, taking the salute the brass band from the security forces provide sweet rhythm of Daddy Lumber's “YENTIE OBIAA” for the contingents to take their calculated steps, because that is the president's favourite song.

Should contingents be worried about the usual scorching sun? I will say no because if the morning record the usual scorching weather, the torrential rain “SHOWERS OF BLESSING” may set in.

But on a more serious note, what are the school children, their teachers, officers and men from the security forces, workers and parents going to march for on 6TH March 2015 at the independence square?

Are they going to march for still higher fuel prices, shortage of gas, lack of pipe borne water, higher prices slapped on goods and services, still higher transportation fares, no national identification card, no driver's license cards or GFA and housing corporation corruption?

Or they are going to march first and foremost for “DUMSOR, DUMSOR”, unbearable rent hikes, school fees, road accidents, loose tongue lashing NDC communicators who jump from one radio station to the other to attack critics of the government.

As the president and the contingents rehearses to celebrate yet another milestone in ruling our own country, there are a number of issues confronting the ordinary Ghanaian that the president should take quick action in solving them.

Prime among issues confronting the nation is the Dumsor Dumsor, which is collapsing every business in the country and not making every body comfortable.

The devastating effects from the Dumsor Dumsor, has been very biting so much that demonstrators took to the streets to stage the “WONGBO” demonstration.

Independence anniversaries are celebrated with joy where the citizenry are happily employed, able to pay their utility bills, cater for their families and in all fields happy about the standard of living.

The president must be made aware that until the plans and programmes are executed to eliminate the electricity crisis in the country, this year's independence anniversary parade would be classified as “WON GBO” 6TH March Parade.
