Tescona Blames Vetting Committee Of Parliament On The Recent Misconduct And Disrespect By Our Ministers
15.02.2015 LISTEN

The Tertiary Education Students Confederacy Of Npp Alumni(TESCONA) puts the recent misconduct and social disrespect by our ministers on the door steps of the vetting committee of parliament and calls for an enactment seeking for re composition of the vetting committee.

TESCONA suggest that, for us to get an effective and efficient vetting committee devoid of political, nepotism and favouritism consideration the various civil society groups like UTAG, POTAG, NAT, Ghana journalists association, Judicial council, National house of chiefs, TUC and others should have a representative on the vetting committee and this would go along way of giving to Ghanaians ministers with high standard ready to serve and not be served.

The current vetting committee of parliament is like allowing students to set their own questions and asking them to mark it. Since 40% of our ministers are supposed to come from parliament, when appointed they see them as their own and in some cases the committee is divided on political lines and the end results are what we are seeing now .

To conclude, TESCONA calls for re- composition of the parliamentary vetting committee so us(Ghanaians) to have ministers with high standard befits the Ghanaian society.

Thank you,
