Ghana Students Discount Card Re-launched

Regardless of their income status, all tertiary students in Ghana will soon receive varying percentages of discount on purchases and services they undertake.

Students Discount card was launched in 2013 but due certain technical challenges which has now being fixed, student had to wait for two years for the re-launch. All what is required of students of Polytechnics, Colleges and Universities in the country is to register for the Ghana students Discount Card.

With the Ghana students Discount Card, beneficiaries will be able to enjoy discounts on essentials including food, clothes, books, flight travel, and leisure activities within the country to enable them to save and maximize resources.

It was officially launched by the Chief Executive Officer of the world view International Group, Folabi Obembe.

Mr. Folabi said his outfit's objective as experienced in other African countries and the United Kingdom is to strategically facilitate a way for Ghanaian Student to obtain certain goods and services at discounted price during the course of their studies.

“Isn't it brilliant to get things a little bit cheaper? Being a student, you should not be expected to pay the same amount for goods and services as someone in full time employment. As a GSD card holder, this is exactly what you get'” he opined.

President of the National Union of Ghana Students, Prosper Dzitse commended the organization for its foresight and described it as a dream come true.

He anticipated that the Ghana Students Discount card would ease the financial constraints negatively affecting the academic progress of tertiary students.

He estimated that, he will assist the National Union of Ghana students achieve its mandate of acting and fighting for the overall interest of its members

Mr. Prosper thus encouraged all tertiary students to embrace the concept by applying for the card. To access the card, all that students' need is to submit duly completed application forms together with one passport size photograph to prove their identity.
