Republic of Korea - France, 29 January 2015 - The 7th World Water Forum, the world's largest water event, is now just over two months away. An indispensable event in the 2015 calendar, the 7th World Water Forum will focus on the implementation of water-related solutions for a better future for all. Following this spirit, beyond the international political conferences and some 300 sessions, three distinctive programs – the Water Showcase, the World Water Challenge, and the Daegu & Gyeongbuk Water Prize – will highlight successful and innovative solutions in the water fields.

The 7th World Water Forum is the world's largest water event. It is expected to attract around 35,000 participants from more than 170 countries. Hosted in the cities of Daegu and Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, from 12-17 April 2015, “Water for our future” will gather a wide range of participants from the international water community: academics, research institutions, enterprises, professional networks, governments and policy-makers, IGOs and NGOs, as well as representatives from various fields such as agriculture, food or energy.

The Water Showcase, a Special Program for the Thematic Process, is a collection of case studies to discover the most innovative experiences demonstrating implementation of water solutions in diverse fields such as research, industry or education. The 9 best cases will be presented at the “Water Showcase World Final” and awarded a trophy and a cash prize. The “Best Implementation” case will be chosen online by the public. The case submission due date is 31st January 2015 via http://eng.worldwaterforum7.org/forum/showcase/write.asp.

The World Water Challenge, a Special Program for the Science & Technology Process, will award individuals or organizations for their optimized solutions for overcoming water problems using science and technology. Those submitting the 10 most outstanding solutions will be invited to present their solutions during the 7th World Water Forum and will receive their awards during the World Water Challenge ceremony. Solutions can be submitted until 30th January 2015 via http://eng.worldwaterforum7.org/forum/challenge.

The most outstanding cases of the Water Showcase and the World Water Challenge will be awarded the Daegu & Gyeongbuk Water Prize in the amount of approximately $27 700 during the 7th World Water Forum's closing ceremony. Other prizes to be awarded during the 7th World Water Forum include the King Hassan II Great World Water Prize, the Kyoto World Water Grand Prize, and the Mexico Water Prize.
