Guwahati: The 6th annual Social Business Day is being organized in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, on 28 May 2015. Hosted by Nobel Peace Laureate, Professor Muhammad Yunus, the theme of the event this year is 'Turning Unemployment into Entrepreneurship', said a statement issued by the Yunus Centre, the secretariat of the 'banker to the poor' turned social scientist of Bangladesh.

Social Business Day 2015 is an opportunity for the youths in particular 'to explore the concept of social business' and their role in this global movement alongside leading experts in the field.

The participants will be able to collaborate on developing sustainable solutions to real world problems with international and local actors, corporate and social leaders, NGOs, students, and innovators.

The day long event last year attracted over 1200 participants from 30 countries.

They had the opportunity to meet social business entrepreneurs face to face and discuss their business models,

achievements, and challenges.
“This year we look forward to making it bigger and better with an expected audience of 2,000 participants from home and abroad,” added the statement.

The event is scheduled to feature a series of plenary sessions and interactive workshops that are tailored to offer expert knowledge about specific aspects of social business as a way of tackling society's most pressing problems.

The organizers have also planed to host a Social Business Marketplace to showcase a variety of successful

social businesses.
“You have the power and potential to impact your society. So join us in this movement to create a world without poverty and unemployment!,” concluded the Yunus Centre statement.
