Some elders and people of Appollonia in the Kpone - Katamanso Assembly are appealing to President Mahama as a matter of urgency to relieve the Greater Accra Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo of his post to avert any possible violence in the area.

The Regional Minister, according to the people, since his appointment has been a torn in the flesh of the people and they have been leaving in fear.

They accused the Minister of been the brain behind the harassment of the people in the community by the military sometimes back and have been supporting illegal activities in the area.

At a press conference in Accra, Mr. AfoteyAgbo has been described as a serious security threat to the people and the earlier he is removed from office, his persistent conduct of interfering in Chieftaincy and Land related issues will bring liberation to the people.

Samuel Nuerty, an elder of Appollonia addressing the press alleged that, real facts available to them suggest that NiiLaryeaAfoteyAgbo, with connivance of some unscrupulous people within the community has been interfering unnecessarily in the Chieftaincy and Land issues at Appollonia.

” It is a real fact that one gentleman by name, Damptey, has received the blessings of the Regional Minister and they have succeeded in registering about 4,000acres of Land in the area to the extent of having a Land Title Certificate”.

He alleged that the Minister, together with some other imposters parading themselves as accredited King Makers have installed a self-styled NiiNuertyAmobi II as the Chief of Appollonia.

Stating the record straight, the elders averred that Appollonia does not have a chief and that at all material times, NiiIddirisuMansro is the legitimate Regent of Appollonia upon the death of NiiTeiAdumuah II.

They have stated that processes are ongoing at the National House of Chief to expunge the name of the self-styled chief from the register.
