Some Assemblymen from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly are unhappy with their Chief Executive over what they term as a blatant disrespect for the Assembly structures.

This follows news of some 2015 desktop calenders procured by the KMA from the United Arab Emirates for the Assembly.

On a discussion on Kumasi based Kapital radio, many residents were incensed and criticized the Assembly for sidestepping several competent local print houses to award such a contract to a company in the Emirates.

They believe such action is a slap in the face of the President's call for the patronage of made in Ghana products.

Even before the issue of the calenders die down, Assemblyman for Ridge-Nhyiaeso electoral area, Abraham Boadi raised the issue of letterheads printed from South Africa among several other dealings which he laments was never discussed at any Assembly meeting.

“All we see is a notice for us to go and take our souvenirs at the designated office”, he said in an interview on Kapital radio.

According to the Kumasi based station that broke the story, the calenders number about 1000 pieces. The cost of contract is however not yet known.
