JAN 26, 2015 LISTEN

THE BROTHER of Constable Seidu Iddrisu who DAILY GUIDE reported committed suicide has denied the story.

In a call to the newspaper last Saturday, Ibrahim Tahidu said his brother of the Formed Police Unit (FPU) of the Ghana Police Service (GPS) did not die through a suicide but rather through circumstances which the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is probing.

This way, he said the murky circumstances underlying the death of his brother would be unravelled.

The cop was reportedly found in a pool of blood after returning from an operation to round up suspected criminals from parts of Accra. Not long afterwards, the report went on, a shot was heard from the direction of the vehicle which was used in the operation when he went to search for his missing mobile phone.

When his colleagues headed for the direction of the vehicle, he was found in a pool of blood and pronounced dead by the time he was taken to the Police Hospital.

He has since been buried at the Madina public cemetery in consonance with Islamic convention. His final funeral prayers would be held in Nakpale in the Northern Region, his brother told DAILY GUIDE . An early prayer for his soul was held at Madina, Accra yesterday.
