The managing director of the State housing Company (ShC), Dr. Mark Nii Akwei Ankrah, has been accused of receiving an amount of gh¢36,000 every month to pay for his phone bills.

State Housing MD was last Friday sacked for alleged misappropriation of funds.

The allegation by staff of the distressed SHC forms part of several accusations leveled against thesacked managing director.

The staff of the company earlier accused Dr. Ankrah of financial malfeasance and embezzlement of state funds.

Speaking to Citi Fm, Deputy Minister of Water Resources Works and Housing, Sampson Ahi said, 'That is the allegation in a petition submitted to my honourable minister,  ollins Dauda, and we consider it to be an allegation until the committee asked to look into the matter comes out with their full report.'

A three-member committee was inaugurated on Friday to investigate the allegation of financial malfeasance leveled against Dr Ankrah.

When Citi Fm contacted the dismissed
officer on Saturday, he denied the allegations and refused to make further comments on the matter.

Dr. Mark Ankrah was sacked and the board of the company dissolved.

The investigation was triggered by a petition made to the sector ministry by largely the 'entire staff' of the company on a series of allegations.

The committee inaugurated on Friday has been tasked to submit its report to Alhaji Collins Dauda within a week.

'A clear case is an allegation of financial impropriety and then accusation of maladministration during his (Dr. Mark Ankrah's) tenure as the MD of State Housing Company,' Abraham Otabil, the ministry's PRO said
