The late District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nkwanta South, Peter Keyenso, who was shot and killed by unknown gunmen, has been laid to rest.

The body of the late DCE was laid in state at the forecourt of the Primary A school, with friends and sympathisers paying their tributes.

Several tributes poured in for Peter Keyenso, with many describing him as a man with unbridled passion for his work, and a very dedicated, loving and gentle personality.

Paying tribute to his fallen comrade, DCE for Akatsi North District, James Gunu, has suggested that a section of the eastern corridor road that stretches through Nkwanta should be named after the murdered DCE who died while discharging his duty.

Speaking to Joy News James Gunu, opined that naming the road after him will make Peter Keyenso happy wherever he is, as the late DCE was very passionate about the completion of the eastern corridor road.

Peter Keyenso was  shot in front of his residence November 3 rd  by unknown gunmen as he returned home from work. He was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

His death came as a shock to the entire district and to his brother, who could  not bear the news of the loss of his sibling .

Investigations have revealed that Mr Keyenso  received death threats before his gruesome murder .

Police have made  some arrests in connection  with  the crime  but so far the culprits have not been brought to book. It is the prayer of his family and colleague DCEs that justice be done.

He is survived by his wife and three children
