NPP UK executives advises its members to stop using the slogan 'DROP THE YAM' after results of an opinion poll unveils.

A UK based think thank called Ghana first conducted an opinion poll on 12 Whattsapp platforms on the slogan 'DROP THE YAM'.This opinion poll was conducted to find out which political party could benefit from this slogan since NPP members and NDC members have been using this slogan to appeal to Ghanaians not to vote for their opponents.

The opinion poll was conducted on 12 different wattsapp platforms whose members are all Ghanaians based in different parts of the world.

The executive director of the think tank ,Mr Michael Frempong who carried out this opinion poll updated members on the various platforms from time to time.

The question was 'An old YAM which is getting to its rotten stage because of length of time it's been around and new,fresh and juicy YAM which could be used to make many other food dishes, which one should we DROP'?

Out of 500 people who voted, 480 people representing 96% voted to DROP THE OLD YAM' and 20 people representing 4% voted to DROP THE NEW YAM'

Provisional results of this opinion poll prompted an immediate reaction from the executives of the NPP UK.They warn all members to stop using the slogan, because, it has a potential damaging effect on their chances of winning 2016 elections.

Deputy Communication Director of the NPP, Mr Twum Barimah warned one of their members not to use the slogan 'Drop the yam' after an NPP member mistakenly used the slogan on one of the if the platforms this opinion poll was conducted.

In a reaction to an NPP serial caller called Joyce Dei also known as Suzzy of Luton who used the slogan on the platform, he warned, 'please folks let us stop this suicidal slogan 'drop this yam' immediately.It won't do us any good.Thanks'

More of such opinion polls would be conducted to find out the impact of slogans on our society.
