Going on demo will favour NPP - CJA

Pressure group, Committee for Joint Action (CJA) has justified its decision not to embark on demonstrations during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regime.

According to Convener of the group, Kwesi Adu any protest will benefit the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

His comment is an apparent response to Minority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu's description of the CJA as an apologies of the NDC government.

The Minority leader wondered the loud silence of the pressure group when in fact in 2008 in the erstwhile Kufuor regime; the CJA was a household name.

The group made up notably people like Kwesi Pratt, Ato Ahwoi, current Ministers like Edward Omane Boamah, Fiifi Kwetey and many leading members of government made the country 'ungovernable' for the NPP.

Its 'wahala' demonstration against fuel increment was accepted by many and accused the Kufuor government of being insensitive to the plight of Ghanaians.

But just like a mirror, the situation is recurring in the Mahama-led administration and many especially in the NPP expect the group to champion the cause of Ghanaians.

However, the convener of CJA on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Friday said the NPP has no moral right to ask them to embark on demonstration.

Kwesi Adu indicated the NPP when in power vehemently opposed its demonstrations and moved heaven on earth to stop it thus could not fathom the u-turn.

He recalled how CJA members were subjected to massive beating in Tamale during one of its protest against fuel increment.

Kwesi Adu said they won't allow' hypocritical' NPP take advantage of their principles.
