NPP alerts party members over fraudulent 'Omanye' e-account
15.01.2015 LISTEN

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cautioned its supporters against falling victim to potential fraud by some devious individuals purporting to register them as party members.

According to the National Treasurer of the NPP, Abankwaah Yeboah, the group has been going round collecting monies from unsuspecting individuals and claiming to set up an Omanye e-account (electronic account) and provide code and pin numbers for the members through their mobile phones.

These alleged fraudsters then promise to send the party cards at a later date.

“The National Treasurer wishes to inform all members, supporters and sympathizers of the party that, the party has not authorized any persons or body to collect monies or register members,” the National Treasurer alerted in a statement.

Mr. Abankwaah Yeboah added “any person who has gone through such illegal process, should report to the National Headquarters or call Telephone numbers: 020-2501566 and 020-8117161.

“Accordingly, the National Treasurer would like to thank all members who have so far been contributing and paying dues through the short code: 12012”.  Story by Ghana | Myjoyonline.com | Jerry Tsatro Mordy | [email protected]
