Ellembelle MP Fetes 5,000 Children And Disabled

As part of the Christmas festivities,the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle,Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has thrown an end of year party for children and the disabled in his constituency.

The party,which has become an annual affair,brought about 5,000 children and the disabled across the length and breath of the constituency to congregate at the elderly care project center at Ambainu for merry making.

The highly elated and enthusiastic crowd,was treated to food and drinks amidst outdoor games and dancing to foster unity and peaceful co-existence especially as future leaders of the constituency and Ghana at large.

The children also received exercise books and other stationery items to enhance academic work and serve as moral booster in the pursuit of education.

Addressing an enthusiastic and mammoth gathering,Mr. Kofi Buah who doubles as the Minister for Energy and Petroleum Resources,said Christmas was a period for children as the saviour and master Jesus Christ is born hence the need to put smiles on their faces especially the disadvantaged ones.

He stressed the need for people in the area to live in peace and harmony and forget about their individual differences,put the past behind them and pave way for development.

The MP reiterated that he would continue to pursue the interest of the vulnerable, a vision which has necessitated the establishment of the Elderly Care Center at Ambainu to cater for the needs of indigents and children in the area and by extension the entire Nzema land.

Mr. Kofi Buah reminded the children that as future leaders, it behooves them to pursue education to the highest level and be prepared to administer affairs of the nation as the mantle of leadership falls on them.

He assured them of his personal commitment to improve their well-being through education and any form of assistance that he can offer when they approach his office.

The District Chief Executive(DCE) for Ellembelle,Mr. Daniel K. Eshun lauded Mr.Kofi Buah for such an initiative which could be described as a novelty since he took the seat.

He assured the people especially children that the Assembly will work hand in hand with the MP to prioritize education and offer more assistance to school children.

Most of the children who spoke to the Ghana News Agency,expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Kofi Buah for such a humanitarian gesture and prayed that he deepens his love and care for them in years to come.

The Elderly Care Project which was started this year,is really on course to really take care of the vulnerable in the constituency.
