The Pastor of the Restoration Temple of the International Central Gospel Church says Christians must not to fret over their current economic circumstances in the season of Christmas.

"Take off your burden. Celebrate Christmas with what you have and don't worry about what you don't have.

"Words are powerful. To wish a loved one Merry Christmas alone is enough," Rev Ashford Smith told a cross section of church members and their families who had come to observe a reenactment of the birth of Jesus Christ at the Restoration Temple in Osu.

He said Christmas is not only about merry making but also a time to reconcile with God.

He admonished members not to despise their humble beginnings, stating Christ himself hailed from Bethlehem, an insignificant village and was born in a manger- the lowest place in life- but rose to the highest echelons to become the King of Kings.

"Your little beginnings, will raise you up," Pastor Smith encouraged.

Quoting the scriptures from Luke 2:1-21 the witty, spirit-filled Pastor led the congregation through the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ and how Christians must use that as guiding principle in their lives.

The highlight of the service was the performance by the little children who served a cocktail of music, choreography and poetry recital.

The poetry were recited in different languages- English, Ga, Twi and even French.

Ephraim Lartey
It was a sight to behold when young Ephraim Lartey who had emceed the occasion the way a professional would do, swept the audience off their feet with a perfect rendition of "O Holy Night"

Mothers, fathers guardians waved, cheered, laughed and applauded the talent of a boy who acted too old for his tender age and made a rather difficult song sound so easy to sing.

It was no doubt, a day for the children who did not fail to impress.

It was also an occasion for merry making and sharing of gifts.
