The Gyandu Park Cries For Refurbishment

This is a passionate open letter to the STMA, Western Region FA, National Sports Authority, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Western Region GES, Western Region CHASS, Sekondi-Takoradi Football Clubs and all other corporate institutions concerned. For few years now, I have lamented the bad state of the Gyandu Park in Sekondi which hosts a lot of sporting activities especially soccer matches. But I realised that the bad condition of our cherished and old park is caused by the absence of maintenance culture.

Even as a teenager, I always say that if I have thousands of Ghana Cedis, I would use part of this money to refurbish the Gyandu Park for free but in partnership with the appropriate authorities. However, I would now use my writing skill to help in changing this disgraceful situation!

Moreover, how are these cumulative gate fees realised during inter-school, professional and other soccer matches at the Gyandu Park over the years expended, such that this park still lacks refurbishment? This realistic question is indicative of the failure of the named institutions concerned concerning the bad state of the Gyandu Park.

Therefore, I remind these institutions to cooperate in refurbishing our Gyandu Park. For this would greatly spice up sporting activities held there leading to better returns on this social investment. I hope my plea is well noted and would be duly executed.
