The Second Lady, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur, has reechoed the need for parents to stop the habit of sending their children to go and sell before they go to school, but rather guide and nature their wards in the area of education ,so that they can become the future leaders of the country.

She said, as parents and guardians, we must act as role models for our children, must see education as key in our society.

Mrs. Amissah-Arthur, gave the advice on Tuesday, during a visit to Kokrobite Chiltern Centre an orphanage and a school , when she joined than more than thousand children to celebrate their Christmas party organised for them.

She also took the opportunity to thank the various sponsors, who have made it possible, helped and supported them through a fantastic 2014, by helping impoverished children and their families to succeed in the area of care-given to the poor and the less privileged in society.

The Second Lady, called on other volunteers to come in and help instead of living the responsibilities to Jane, Martial the owners of the school and emulate their example by extending a helping hand to children in orphanages.

As part of her Social Responsibility (CSR) to the children, she is donated food items – bags of rice, cooking oil, candies, drinks, as well as some educational materials such as pens, pencils, and exercise books to support the children this Christmas.

She also used the occasion to wish the children and the staff a prosperous 2015 in advance, and God's blessings.

The Kokrobite Chiltern Centre was set up in 2004 by Jane and Martial Zohoungbogbo. They work with children and their families to give and sustain quality education., they also work with local schools to provide resources, teacher development and assistance with individual projects, e.g building toilets and provision of electricity. Also offer out of school activities for all children including Art, Sport, Exam preparation and additional English and Math classes.

The children are very excited about 2014's Christmas Party with the Second Lady ,as they took to the floor to dance with the second Lady.

On behalf of the School, Jane, Martial took the opportunity to thank the Second Lady for her Kind gesture and support not only for the center but the role she continue to play by helping the less privileged in society
