Apostle Dr Opoku Onyinah
The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Opoku Onyinah, has issued a statement extending the church's season's greetings to Ghanaians.

The Chairman said: 'I wish all of you a happy Christmas!  The Lord has been gracious to us as a nation. We prayed concerning the challenges that we were encountering in the world and especially on the African continent and Ghana. '

He noted that the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa and Cholera in Ghana was a great concern, adding that however the Lord has been merciful and the situation has improved. He said like the prophetess Anna, there is the need to give God thanks and also use the occasion of Christmas to declare His glory; for indeed, the Lord has been good to us.

Apostle Onyinah added that the celebration of Christmas reminds us of the coming of our Lord Jesus and what He came to do for humanity, stressing that  Christmas must always remind us to declare the good works of the Lord Jesus Christ and His second coming.

He said his focus this Christmas is the role Anna played during the dedication of Jesus Christ.

'Indeed, the Lord preserved her to do His will. Her duty was to speak about Jesus and what He means to the world. Anna began this by representing all women at the dedication of Jesus at the temple.

'What Anna might have declared prophetically included the fact that Jesus is love. He came purposely to give people freedom and set them free from sin. He accomplished these through his personal ministry and death.

'In His ministry He healed the sick, brought the rejected home, set the oppressed free, and did good to all He encountered. Anna prophetically said Jesus was the one who had come to redeem humanity from their suffering. During this Christmas, may you be an Anna by doing good to others and also telling people about the forgiveness that Jesus has brought to the world.  Moreover, you must accept what Jesus has brought to the world—salvation—by acknowledging Him as your personal saviour,' Apostle Onyina said.
