About 120 students on Sunday graduated fromCake Tekniks International, a privately-owned modern cake designing and sugar craft institution in Accra.

The graduands were presented with certificates at a colorful 40th graduation ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The graduands undertook courses in cookery, flora and balloon decoration, catering, sugar craft, modern cake designing and pastry making.

Professional diplomas were also presented to 10 students who completed the course successfully.

Some of the graduands came from Senegal, India, United Kingdom, Guinea Conakry, Liberia and Togo.

Jane Addo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cake Tekniks, advised the graduands to work hard in order to become successful in their field of endavour.

She bemoaned the perception that vocational training was for illiterate and those who cannot operate in the corporate world.

Mrs. Addo said the institute does more of cake architecture than cake designing, stating that 'the cakes are carved and crafted. In view of that, we have employed an architect who helps in providing the skill.

'Our cake has brought joy, fun and happiness to many Ghanaians and we promise to offer the best for the country at all times,' she said.

Mrs Addo said the institute's success was achieved through hard work, disclosing that a new state-of-the-art building was being constructed at East Legon to accommodate more students.

She said the Institute's doors are open to students who wish to enroll.

Millicent Nortey, one of the graduands, expressed appreciation to the CEO for effectively teaching them.

She also expressed gratitude to the teachers of the institute, adding 'there is a good relationship between the teachers and the students, which makes it easy for the students to learn quickly.'

Pricilla Adama was adjudged the best student of the school while Mary Victoria Ala placed second.

Belinda Quarshie was also adjudged the third best student.

Cake Tekniks was established some 15 years ago to train students in cake techniques, floral and balloon designs as well as sugar craft.

The company also offers the best in cake designs for weddings, anniversaries and parties.
