The Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin, has said that Ivor Greenstreet was possessed by a demon when he launched a blistering attack on the National Democratic Congress and President Mahama at the Party's 8th National Delegates Congress which is ongoing in Kumasi.

Called upon to deliver a solidarity message on behalf of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Greenstreet seized the opportunity to deliver a stinging criticism of the NDC's performance in government, which he said was poor and regressive.

The CPP General Secretary said it was unacceptable that the NDC was meeting to elect new leaders, when it should have been meeting to re-evaluate its policies, which he said had plunged the country into an economic mess.

In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, an emotionally-charged Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”

“Continuous 'dumsor dumsor,' corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”

He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”

“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This 'bronya' is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don't care.”

“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we'll come and do…make sure you'll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

But in a reaction on Accra-based Starr FM, Alban Bagbin said Greenstreet was carried away by his emotions in making those remarks.

Bagbin said: “Brotherly or sisterly parties were to give solidarity messages. Now it was unexpected that solidarity messages will turn into a very acidic criticisms of the NDC Government and my very good brother Greenstreet took all of us by surprise because that is not his nature, so I don't know what demon entered him at that time.”

Asked by the host of the show, Bernard Shaibu, whether Greenstreet was really possessed by a demon, Bagbin replied, "Yes".
