One of the aspiring candidates in the hotly contested National Chairmanship race of the National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Huudu Yahya has pulled out of the contest
It is not immediately clear why he withdrew at the eleventh hour.
The announcement of his withdrawal comes after the conclusion of opening ceremonies and speeches at the party's delegates' congress, and right before the commencement of voting for the national executives.
Alhaji Yahaya's departure leaves the position to be slugged out by incumbent Dr. Kwabena Adjei, NADMO boss Kofi Purtophy and former MP for Keta and High Commissioner, Dan Abodakpi.
