20.12.2014 LISTEN

Former President Jerry John Rawlings at his usual comic best has announced the full comeback of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings into the NDC family.

Though Rawlings sounded comical on the day at the ongoing NDC Congress in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region, one cannot underestimate the value of this information since Rawlings is very confident his wife would bounce back to the NDC.

"I am standing here screaming that Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings would hear me to come back to her NDC family," JJ jokingly stated.

Rawlings mounted the stage crusading for the need for old executives to make way for new blood to defend the ideal values of the NDC.

"I urge delegates to ensure that powers are exchanged hands at this NDC Congress today to elect officials who stand for truth against lies and put the NDC where it ought to be."

Over 4,000 delegates of the ruling National Democratic Congress will today (Saturday), December 20 go to the polls to elect new National Executives to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.

The delegates traversing the various regions of the country arrived at the congress venue, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in the Ashanti region, Friday.

It is the 8th Congress of the governing party being held at the stronghold of the opposition New Patriotic Party in Kumasi.

The sitting president John Dramani Mahama and party founder JJ Rawlings are presently gracing the congress with their physical presence.

Among the key positions being contested for are, the National chairman, General Secretary, National organiser, vice chairmen, deputy general secretary, and propaganda secretary.
