Camfed Holds Innovators’Fair

Camfed Ghana has held its Young Women Innovators Fair in Tamale in the Northern Region.

Miss De-Liman RukaYaro, Chief Executive Officer of Jamilullah Farm Enterprise and a beneficiary of Innovation Bursary Programme (IBP) during an interaction with customers at her stand expressed how this sponsored project has benefited her.

In a remark, Madam Anna-Maria Fati Paul, Chairperson of the Northern Ghana Community Action Fund (NOGCAF) Speaking on the theme “Accelerating economic independence for women: The role of entrepreneurship”, urged young ladies to venture into establishing their own business in to be responsible leaders and role models as well for other young women.

She also said, the program is part of Camfed objective of empowering young women to lead a change in their communities, through the provision of grants under the IBP to promote, grow and sustain the enterprises of young educated women in Northern, Upper East, Upper West and Central Region of Ghana.

Through the IBP, 81 young women (IB scholars) have been supported to acquire new skills, access market and financial services. This will enable the girls to establish and lunch businesses in their various communities, she added.

Our other focus is to create opportunities for marketing and showcasing Northern Ghana as a business and trade destination in the country.

Miss RukaYaro a beneficiary urged young girls to take advantage of the project in order to be self-sufficient and role model and also commended Camfed for the opportunity given young women in Northern Ghana.
