Barely some weeks to Africa's biggest tournament to be staged in Equatorial Guinea. The spotlight is on the Black Stars of Ghana in Group C alongside Senegal, Cameroun and South Africa. Goalkeeper's play important role should if nation can win a tournament, most of the countries that has won the African Cup of Nation came with their best of goalkeepers. Hassan Husain is one of such goalkeepers that helped Egypt to annex the AFCON on several different occasion.

Ghana, known to be one of the best countries for the production of world class goalkeepers, talk of the likes of Edward Ansah, Nassamu Yakubu, Ali Jahara, Samuel Adjei, George Owu, Richard Kingston and the likes. These goalkeepers have distinguished themselves to be among Ghana's all-time best goalkeepers who have played their heart out in every competition they participated in.

The vacuum left by Richard Kingston is so big that no goalkeeper has been able to step into his shoes, after the likes of Adams kwarasey, Fatau Dauda, Daniel Adjei and Razak Braimah's have tried their best but to no avail. Ghana is now battling to get a first choice goalkeeper following Adams Kwarasey decision to quit the national team on the premise of incompetency in the part of the goalkeeper's trainer. The question then is who becomes Ghana's safest pair of hand at the AFCON in Guinea? Is it Dauda, Braimah or Adams?

Dauda after an impressive World cup has seen a retrogression in form which has made him loss his first choice position to Stephen Adams. The Aduana stars goalkeeper also earned his call up into the Black stars after a stupendous performance in the CHAN tournament, but the Dormaa shot stopper is yet to impress Ghanaians after he displayed a sign of immaturity on the field of play during the qualifiers against Togo. Isrealie coach Avram Grant will face worries as to who becomes the first choice goalkeeper of the Black Stars.

However, among the three goalkeeper Braimah remain the most active, playing day in and day out in the Spanish lower division, but his performance is has not been to the expectation of the teaming fans. The Black Stars will be in a tough position to deliver if the issue of goalkeeping is not resolved, perhaps the return of Kwarasey can be an opium for the Black Stars to achieve their target at the mundial, or can we say the reign of Ghana in the production of goalkeepers has come to an abrupt end. Therefore the question still remains ''who is Ghana's safest pair of hand”?
