One of the leading insurance companies in the country, Phoenix Insurance yesterday opened a new branch at East Legon, Accra.

The opening of the new office, located on the premises of Papa's Pizza, is aimed at offering the company's wide range of products to clients in the catchment area.

These include motor, fire, accident, personal accident, money, bonds, marines, contractors all risk and travel insurance.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Phoenix Insurance, Sonny Heward-Mills said 'due to the large number of clients who fall within the East Legon catchment area, we thought it wise to situate a branch here to afford additional convenience to our clients with a guarantee to provide quicker response to their needs.

'We will leave no stone unturned and spare no investment and effort to live up to the promise of providing a delightful service experience to all stakeholders.'

In a remark, Commissioner of the National Insurance Commission (NIC), Lydia Lariba Bawa, urged owners and occupants of commercial and residential properties in the locality to take advantage of the presence of the company in the area to protect their property and comply with the provisions of the Insurance law, Act 2006 (Act 724).

She further entreated insurance companies to deal fairly with their customers, recruit qualified personnel at their branches and address the concerns of policy holders and claimants.

In line with this, the Commissioner said the NIC would soon issue new operational and staffing requirements for offices of insurance companies.

A member of the Board of Phoenix Insurance, Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee, said 'our clients, most of whom, have been with us right from the beginning can continue to expect the very best in service excellence from product design, innovation, integrity and robust technological backbone, professionalism and excellent service delivery.'
