President Mahama showing his dancing skills with Otumfuo

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and President John Dramani Mahama exhibited good dancing skills Monday evening after the re-commissioning of what NDC propaganda machinery described as the 'Kumasi International Airport'.

This was when Otumfuo threw a mini party for the President at his official residence at the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Ashanti Kingdom, after the re-commissioning, perhaps to show his appreciation to the President for the gesture.

A video of the event, which was obviously not open to the public, has however found its way into social media and gone viral.

They had earlier been treated to some good music by popular highlife artiste Charles Kwadwo Fosu aka Daddy Lumba and Abrantie Amakye Dede at the airport, which has been given a face-lift which allegedly cost $29 million.

In the said video, which was captured obviously with a mobile phone, one could hear Daddy Lumba's popular and controversial 'yεntie obiaa' song being played in the background by members of a neatly-dressed live band, with the two high-profile personalities and other guests dancing their hearts out while being cheered on.

President Mahama sported his trademark all-black collarless political suit, while the Asantehe was seen wearing a purple-coloured African kaftan attire.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu and the President were clearly in a buoyant mood, letting their hair down after a delightful day's assignment of commissioning what Dzifa Attivor, Transport Minister, described as 'Kumasi International Airport', to which President Mahama flew directly from Abuja in Nigeria.

Also in the video were other high profile personalities including popular Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye, who is making waves in the region, and the Omanahene of Tepa Traditional Area, Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I, who was also having fun as he danced. Kofi Boakye was dressed in an all-white kaftan.

Others were former Ashanti Regional Minister under the Jerry Rawlings regime and PR Consultant to Otumfuo, Kojo Yankah, Transport Minister Dzifa Aku Ativor and key and influential people, some of whose faces were unfamiliar and others who were filming the event with their mobile phones.

At a point in the video, an obviously excited Otumfuo went to grab the hand of the Transport Minister, who looked a bit shy, from behind the crowd and brought her to join him, the President, and the otherwise all male dancers on the dance floor.

Strangely but interestingly, the bodyguard (aide de camp) of the President, who is expected to always be on the alert to protect the First Gentleman from any unforeseen circumstances, was observed sharply dressed in his all-white navy uniform and  cap, doing the  paparazzi job with a professional video camera and shooting the unfolding event.

Unknown to him, others were also filming his activities as well as the invigorating dance steps of the two most powerful men in the country, boogying to  Daddy Lumba's popular music 'yen tie obiaa'.
