Airtel Ghana, a leading telecommunication company, has partnered Integrat Group of Africa, a South African mobile advertising firm to launch a new mobile advertising tool dubbed, 'Intarget' to meet the needs of advertisers in Ghana.

The new tool, believed to be the first of its kind in the country, comes with text tags on service notifications via SMS and USSD, Voice Ads, advertiser funded caller ring tunes, mobile display ads, text ads and rich media engagement which can be distributed to profiled subscribers of Airtel, who use either feature phones, smart phones and tablets.

It is specifically targeted at corporate organizations, who want to reach their clients on a regular and speedy basis at a moderate cost.

The Airtel Group has presence in about 17 countries across Africa with an estimated mobile subscription base of about 68 million, including about 1.7 million subscription base in Ghana.

Any corporate organization that patronizes the service in Ghana stands the chance of having the knowledge about the existence of its products spread across the subcontinent.

Speaking at the launch of Intarget on Thursday in Accra, Director of Marketing at Airtel Ghana, Manu Rajan described the new tool as 'a powerful game changer' in the advertising industry.

Commenting on the partnership between his outfit and the Integrat Group, the Marketing Director of the third largest telecommunication company globally said 'we are partnering Integrat in order to enhance our service delivery to our customers.'

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Integrat Africa, Lazarus Muchente, in a presentation, noted that the collaboration was very important for the growth of businesses operating in Africa.

This, he said, was because 'mobile advertising is the future of advertising and that businesses that want to survive into the future need to start making their presence felt on the available mobile advertising platforms.

Vice President of Intarget, Farai Janda, in a presentation, disclosed that messages could be profiled according to age, gender, location, among others with the aim of reaching the desired target audience or group.

Integrat Africa has been in operation for over 15 years in the delivery of mobile advertising experience in traditional SMS-based advertising.
