Staff of Freddies Corner , which deals in mobile phones, computers & accessories, has donated items worth over GH₵4,500 to the Osu Children's Home and Christ Faith Foster Home in Accra.

The items included bags of rice, sachets of sugar, gallons frytol oil, cartons of milk, non-alcoholic wine, boxes of soap, boxes of biscuit and buckets of washing powder.

The company also made a cash donation of GH₵2,000 to each orphanage.

Desmond Batu, who addressed the media during the presentation, said the donation was to ensure that the needy children in the orphanages celebrate Christmas with joy and happiness.

'The children in the orphanages deserve to be happy just like everyone and this is our small way of helping to make them happy especially during this Christmas festivity,' he said.

Mr. Batu said, 'At the end of every year, we say thank you to our cherished customers by adding gift to any phone or laptop bought from us. It is our way of appreciating our customers and making them happy.

'However this year, we have decided to extend that happiness to our brothers and sisters in the children's home.

He commended management and workers for contributing both in cash and kind towards the welfare of the children, stating that Freddie Corner would support the orphanages every year.

Persons who received the items on behalf of the orphanages expressed appreciation to Freddies Corner for the kind gesture, urging other institutions to follow suit.

They said they would put the items and cash to good use.
