A book titled, 'The Political History of Ghana (1950-2013): The Experience of a Non-Conformist', authored by Dr Obed Yao Asamoah, a former Foreign Minister and later Attorney General in the erstwhile NDC regime, is expected to be launched today.

The veteran politician, who broke ranks with the NDC to form the now defunct Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), is joining a number of influential personalities who have written extensively about Ghana's political history.

The launching which will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre is to be chaired by Edem Kodjo, former Togolese Prime Minister and former Secretary-General of the defunct Organisation of Africa Unity (OAU), now Africa Union (AU), and reviewed by Dr Vladimir Antwi-Danso, a Senior Research Fellow of Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) at the University of Ghana.

Published by Author House UK Limited in Indiana, United States, the 762-page book which has nine chapters delves into the political atmosphere in the Gold Coast, the era under Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah as well as the second and third Republics.

It also tackles the revolution up to the era of constitutionalism (4 th Republic), changing the traditional political schism in Ghana, the Liberian crisis and the Togo situation as well as the challenges of democracy in Ghana.
