UBA rolls out new and upgraded electronic banking products

UBA has rolled out a number of new and upgraded electronic banking products targeted at corporate businesses and individuals. This is part of moves by the bank to harness the various electronic platforms to meet the specific needs of customers and thereby position UBA as the electronic bank of Ghana.

The products include online/web acquiring solutions- (U- collect and U-bills), Cards (visa gold, africard, smart money), Corporate online banking (U-Direct, U- Pay HR), POS Terminals (Visa/Mastercard POS) and Remittances (Africash sub agents roll out).

U-Direct Corporate is an integrated single sign-on product suite through which the bank provides corporate clients with cash management and transaction banking services including payments, collections, liquidity management, corporate mobility, balance reporting, cash flow forecasting, e-trade, e-treasury and supply chain financing.

The Point of Sale terminal is also a portable device that facilitates payments for goods and services at merchant locations using payment cards issued by all banks on the network.

U-Collect is a consolidated internet payment gateway using cards whilst U-Bills is a platform that allows merchants collect payment for bills online. Customers will have the flexibility to make 24/7 online payments for goods and services rendered and merchants will be able to download these customized reports in line with business needs.

UBA Visa Gold is a Premium Debit Card with enhanced transactional limits and value for that discerning and deserving men and women.

Speaking to JOY BUSINESS after a media encounter, the Managing Director, Abiola Bawuah emphasized that their products standout from existing ones on the market.

“Let's take the Point of Sales (POS) terminals for example. The owner of the POS like Maxmart or Game can have different accounts on our POS. This is different from the POS's on the market on which it is impossible to have several wallets on the same device,” she said.

To reward customers, UBA is also running two promotions – the Cashlite promotion that rewards customers for using its electronic/online products and the Aky3d3 nkoaa promotion for all who receive their remittances in any UBA branch.
