Vodafone Ghana has stepped up efforts in its quest to consistently lead in providing unmatched customer experience by adding to its already established and diverse talent pool.

Global trends suggest that an organisation's ability to make inroads and achieve a lot of success is reflective of the diversity and strength in its employee pool. The aptitude to attract quality talent and resource to one's brand is, therefore, very crucial if an organisation wants to be successful.

With the recent employee additions to its growing workforce, the 2014 CIMG Telecommunications Company of the Year has registered a statement of intent and is rearing to go at full throttle when 2015 commences.

Already the telecoms sector is experiencing a host of innovation and changing trends, especially with the world fully set on the path towards digitisation and technological innovation. Currently, the average life span of technology is estimated to be three months and Mobile Network Operators, like Vodafone, have their hands full in creating and keeping customers – which is the fundamental task of every business.

The company has recently made two significant appointments in its Finance department with the inclusion of Jeremiah Addo-Twum and Michael Sackitey.

Jeremiah, who has joined as Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, has varied experiences in Finance across a number of industries, particularly in the telecoms and beverages sectors. He was previously Head of Business Performance Management and Decision Support at Millicom Ghana Limited and has also held a similar role at Diageo Ghana Limited prior to joining Vodafone.

The new Finance Operations Manager, Michael Sackitey, has over 10-years professional experience and joins from Diageo Ghana Limited, where he was the Financial Controller.

Vodafone Business Solutions (VBS), the organisation's enterprise arm, is currently the market leader in the telecoms industry. However, the unit has set its sights on higher goals, with the inclusion of Cynthia Amponsah-Antwi, as its National Corporate Sales Manager. Cynthia is an accomplished banker with a host of experiences, having previously worked for Fidelity Bank as Head of Business Development, where she was integral in generating profitable and attractive deals for the Bank.

Cynthia was also previously the Head of Business Development at UniBank and has previously had a stint with Barclays Bank.

Theodore Albright, former Legal Counsel at Opportunity International, has joined the Legal Unit as Legal Counsel Manager. He is a dual qualified lawyer with extensive international exposure and is also admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales, and as a Barrister and Solicitor in Ghana.

Theodore is expected to support the legal function to offer the required guidance and protection for Vodafone's operations.

Vodafone has also made considerable high profile appointments to its vibrant Marketing department. Gifty Adjei-Fianko, formerly the Territorial Manager for Coca-Cola Equatorial Africa, takes up the role of Senior Marketing Manager to steer the integrated marketing activities of the company across the country. Whiles at Coca-Cola, Gifty was the champion behind the 'Share a Coke' campaign that lit up the entire country with its creative touch.

Additionally, Vodafone has named Ebenezer Amankwah as its new Corporate Communications Manager in the External Affairs function to help drive external communication and stakeholder engagement. With a strong background in Marketing Communications, having previously worked for Standard Chartered Bank and Citi FM, Ebenezer is expected to bring his varied experiences to bear in placing Vodafone on the path to further success.

Commenting on these appointments, Stella Appiah-Nkansah, Human Resources Director at Vodafone Ghana said:

“Our aim is to attract, develop and retain the very best people by offering a motivating and inclusive workplace in which talent is developed and wellbeing is promoted. Over the years, our pride has been in the wonderful people we have and the great things we have achieved working together for the good of the customer”.
