The Professional Fun Club Calls For Ebola Free Christmas

The Professional Fun Club has called on residents of Bibiani to celebrate this year's Christmas festive season free from Ebola viral disease.

The group took to the principal streets of Bibiani carrying placards with educative information on the Ebola deadly disease.

Mr. Obed Bangdome Ofori, a Disease Control Officer from the District Health Administration announced to onlookers that Ghana has not recorded any case of Ebola even though the disease continues to kill thousands of people in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Mr. Ofori cautioned those spreading falsehood information that the disease is a spiritual one to desist from that practice. He advised that henceforth sudden fevers, headaches, joint and muscle pains, vomiting and diarrhea should not be regarded in homes or drug stores as malaria but people presenting such conditions should rush to the nearest hospital for proper medical examination.

He signaled people to avoid direct contact with fluids of persons showing signs and symptoms of Ebola and avoid touching dead bush animals, and if possible avoid intake of bush meat for this Christmas and beyond.He again called on people to perform regular hand washing with soap and water, and send their family members who will return home from other countries; especially those living in the Ebola hit countries to the nearest health facility for fever examination.

He revealed that the district has received twelve (12) complete sets of Ebola Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) from the Regional Health Directorate to attend to suspected Ebola cases.

The Chairman of the club, Mr. Ntiamoah Boateng also hinted that the club had noticed a reduction on public awareness on the Ebola pandemic, hence their intention for the float. Other groups that joined the float were the ambulance service, Bibiani Senior High School and Otoo Educational complex cadet.
