Wilson was selected as one of top 90 small businesses for excellence, business acumen and recently completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses at Babson College program.

(WASHINGTON) – International public relations and marketing communications consultant Julia Wilson, CEO & founder of Wilson Global Communications, is among 90 small business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the U.S. honored by Goldman Sachs and Babson College of Boston recently, for excellence in completing their top-rated business leadership program.

Goldman Sachs' 10,000 Small Businesses Program is a $500 million investment effort designed to help America's small businesses to create jobs and economic growth by providing entrepreneurs with practical business methodologies, enhancing their access to capital, providing them with business support services and removing common barriers to business growth.

“I feel extremely blessed to have been chosen by Goldman Sachs and Babson College as one of the top-tier small business owners in our great nation – and to have had the opportunity to better learn how to grow my business from the best minds in such an exclusive, and intensive immersion business leadership training program,” said Wilson.

As part of the 11-week blended learning program, topics ranged from business owner leadership to business exit strategies. Wilson received a certificate for completing the intensive immersion training course, which included 9 weeks of online training – twice-weekly WebEx conferences – and two separate weeks of intensive on-campus face-to-face classroom sessions in Boston, interacting with Babson faculty and the 29 other business owners in her East Coast cohort. Wilson and the other small business owners were required to develop and present detailed business growth and marketing plans to program instructors, and to each other.

Wilson, whose formal education is in American journalism from the University of Southern California (USC), first opened her public relations consultancy in Johannesburg, South Africa after that country's first free elections in 1994, and expanded to Ghana, before moving her business to Washington, D.C. She and Wilson Global now serve as the liaison representative to a renowned foundation based in Hong Kong to connect American leaders in education, civic affairs, and business with their counterparts in China.

Following the program's completion, coordinators will follow-up with the business owners at regular 6-month, 18-month and 30-month intervals, to measure graduates' progress and chronicle their anticipated successes.

“One of the program's highlights was the opportunity to interact with the other small-business owners participating from across the U.S.,” Wilson said. “I am honored to have met such an extraordinary group of business visionaries with shared interests and goals, and proud to be an alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses @ Babson College program. I look forward to growing my business, creating more jobs, and contributing to the economy of this great country.”
